TEMPERATURE OF NS SAVANNAH IRRADIATED FUEL FOLLOWING A POSTULATED LOSS OF COOLANT FROM THE TRANSFER CASK
An estimate of the temperature of N.S. Savannah spent fuel following a postulated loss of coolant from the spent fuel transfer cask was made. Hand and digital computer calculations were employed to determine the cask temperature distribution as a function of time after reactor shutdown. Peak cladding temperatures were estimated to remain well below the melting point.(Author)
