DESIGN AND COMPACTION OF BITUMINOUS MIXES WITH A HIGH STONE CONTENT
PROPORTIONERING OCH PACKNING AV STENRIKA ASFALTMASSOR
This report deals with the possibilities of improving the wear-resistance of a conventional bituminous mix by increasing the stone content and decreasing the binder content, in combination with adequate roller-compaction. In laboratory tests the best results, according to the Marshall method, were obtained with a gap-graded bituminous mix, lacking the fraction 4-8 mm, having a stone percentage of 50% ,8 mm and a binder content of 4.8% asphalt a135 (pen 80). /TRRL/
