NEW TENDENCIES IN BITUMINOUS PLANTS
NUEVAS TENDENCIAS EN PLANTAS DE AGLOMERADOS
The author describes the state of the art of bituminous plants, presents current requirements, and forecasts the situation in 1985. Present tendencies include the following: (a) cold-coated material feeders can be remotely controlled, either individually or collectively; (b) the diameter of the dryer-burner enables the internal speed of the air to be maintained below 270 m/minute; (C) the storage of hot-coated aggregates is carried out with the help of remotely controlled maximum and minimum level indicators situated in the bins; (D) raw materials are weighed with semi-automatic or completely automatic scales, independently controlled. In the short term, the tendency is for high output plants and dustless manufacturing processes. /TRRL/
