BIBLIOGRAPHY ON SOIL PLASTICITY
This systematically classified series of references tabulates, and where possible annotates, technical publications which treat soil as a plastic medium in the context of the classical theory of plasticity. The publications include those which cover solutions of various boundary value problems in soil mechanics, as well as investigations of soil stress-strain behavior and soil yield functions. The bibliographic data is arranged in the following categories: stress-strain relations, bearing capacity, earth pressure, slope stability, and miscellaneous. In recent years many writers have discussed the applicability of the plastic theory to soil stress-strain behavior. A strain hardening model for clay has been proposed by Roscoe and co-workers. The solutions to limit loads in soil mechanics covered in this bibliography are confined to the methods of slip-lines, and limit analysis.
