KEY INFORMATION ON THE RESEARCH PROJECT: SPATIAL ABSTRACTION IN TRANSPORTATION PLANNING
BEKNOPTE INFORMATIE OVER HET ONDERZOEK: RUIMTELIJKE ABSTRACTIE IN DE VERVOERSPLANNING
The research on spatial abstraction in spatial planning deals with the way of modelling space. In particular, it concerns the level of spatial detail used in the analysis of spatial situations and plans. For the present the research is concentrated on transportation planning. Summing up the various components of spatial abstraction made clear the meaning of the term spatial abstraction: it designates the simplified representation of the spatial configuration of objects and phenomena. The present research will be confined to five forms of spatial simplifications. /TRRL/
