THE CNSG 2: A CONCEPTUAL MERCHANT SHIP NUCLEAR REACTOR DESIGN
The Babcock and Wilcox Company has designed the Consolidated Nuclear Steam Generator 2 (CNSG 2), improved pressurized water reactor that is more economical than conventional power plants for high shaft horsepower and high load factor applications. The entire primary system is contained in one pressure vessel, resulting in an extremely compact and light system. The refueling cycle is completed in only 10 days. The CNSG 2 design presented here is for 66,000 shaft horsepower, but basic plant information is given for designs of 15,000, 22,000, 30,000 shp.(Author)
