TO AND FROM CAMPUS: CHANGING STUDENT TRANSPORTATION PATTERNS

This study analyzes past student transportation patterns at the University of California -- conditions which helped to create the patterns, and policies that have been initiated to change them. The publication reports on factors which are most influential in shaping university student transportation patterns, summarizes changes in student travel modes and student vehicle ownership rates from the period 1965-66 through 1971-72, and describes student transportation on pedestrian, bicycle, automobile, and public transportation oriented campuses. The report also examines student vehicle use in relationship to student vehicle ownership.
