DETERMINATION OF DESIGN HOURLY VOLUME
The study described in this thesis is concerned with the determination of the design hourly volume. The objectives of the investigation are to review the rationale of the thirtieth highest hour and knee-of-the-curve concepts for determining this volume, to examine the trends in hourly traffic volume vs. average annual daily traffic, and to study the interaction of price-volume and demand curves with a view to developing a revised critical hour for highway design. /RTAC/
