ECONOMIC STUDY OF ALTERNATIVE MODES FOR RAIL TRAFFIC AND THEIR COSTS

An economic study of alternative modes for rail traffic and their relative costs, including the social and environmental costs. This study summarizes the overview of the problem of diverting rail traffic to alternative modes. It discusses the prospects for substituting different modes and preserving competition and provides a description of the principal factors affecting comparative costs of the several modes of transportation.
