PERFORMANCE OF CYCLOIDAL PROPELLERS IN CAVITATING ENVIRONMENT
This report presents the results of cavitation tests and shows the effects of cavitation on a 9-inch orbital diameter cycloidal propeller in the 24-inch variable- pressure water tunnel at the Naval Ship Research and Development Center. Six blades were used and the blade motion was pure cycloidal. Two pitch ratios and two steering angles for one of the pitch ratios were investigated over a range of advance coefficients and cavitation numbers.
