ELASTOSTATIC ANALYSIS AND BACK-CALCULATION ESTIMATES OF PAVEMENT LAYER MODULI. PROCEEDINGS OF THE THIRTY-FOURTH ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE CANADIAN TECHNICAL ASPHALT ASSOCIATION, HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, 1989
The back calculation of layer moduli from non-destructive test data has received considerable attention in recent years. A great deal of controversy exists regarding the interpretation of back-calculated results. This paper reviews some of the background on the development of multilayer elastostatic analysis of pavement structures and presents several limitations of back-calculation routines which utilize elastostatic models. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 807386.
