DETERMINATION OF HYPERBOLIC SOIL MODEL PARAMETERS FOR SAND USING A MULTIAXIAL DEVICE. NUMERICAL MODELS IN GEOMECHANICS. NUMOG III. PROCEEDINGS OF THE 3RD INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM HELD AT NIAGARA FALLS, CANADA, 8-11 MAY 1989

A medium, dense sand was tested along different stress paths utilizing a cubical multiaxial testing device. The data was used to derive parameters for a hyperbolic soil model developed by duncan and his associates. One set of parameters was based solely on conventional triaxial compression (ctc) stress paths and compared favorably with results from tests on a conventional triaxial apparatus. Additionally, model parameters were derived from multiaxial tests along general stress paths. Model predictions resulting from both sets of parameters were tested against experimental data.(a) for the covering abstract of this conference see IRRD 824029.
