HOW THE STRUCTURAL FACTORS OF A REACTING FORCE-TYPE BRAKE TESTER HAVE INFLUENCE ON TEST PARAMETERS. ACADEMIC CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS OF INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION ON ROAD TRANSPORT, BEIJING, CHINA, 7-12 MAY 1989

The relationship between the main structural factors and test parameters of the reacting force brake tester is studied. The structural factors analysed are those which have influence on braking time and other test results. The relation between adhesive coefficient and equivalent adhesive coefficient is presented. The results of the brake force test relate mainly to the adhesive coefficient of the rolling cylinder and to the laying angle of the tester. The capacity of the reacting force-type brake tester can be raised by increasing the laying angle correctly, distributing the front and rear laying angles well, improving the surface condition of the cylinder, and choosing small cylinders.
