PATCHING UP THE POTHOLES
This product review describes the alltech patchmaster machine for repairing potholes, manufactured by allroads technology, Lincoln, England. It will enable better, more durable repairs to be made to a variety of road defects, including: (1) potholes; (2) depressions; (3) crazing; (4) edge over run damage. The method of operation is said to be as easy as aiming a nozzle, opening a valve, and pressing a switch; it is claimed that it leads to quicker, much less complicated, and more cost-effective repairs. Using a single tool, the patchmaster pneumatically cleans, tack coats, then places and compacts the repair material in one 3-stage procedure; high volume air clears away dust, debris and water. The concept was developed around the basic principles of road repair, and eliminates most of the reasons for failure in repairs made with traditional hot patching materials. Several local authorities in the UK and eire are now using the patchmaster.
