NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF A HALF-SCALE PRESTRESSED-BEAM AND SLAB BRIDGE DECK
TRRL recently tested a half-scale model of a bridge deck composed of eight prestressed concrete inverted T-Beams and an in-situ reinforced concrete slab. Tha model was tested to failure. The present report compares the experimental results with: (1) grillage and linear finite element calculations within the elastic regime; (2) linear elastic finite element calculations combined with code limits; (3) mechanism calculations; (4) non-linear finite element calculations.
