MARITIME LNG MANUAL
Current view of the problems and procedures involved in transporting liquefied natural gas by sea begins with a brief historical background and continues with a discussion of the theoretical and practical processes by which natural gas is liquefied. A description is provided of cargo tank construction, typical ship equipment, operating, safety and maintenance procedures. It ends with a discussion of the economics and future growth potential of liquefied natural gas as a natural resource. All of the information presented was obtained from either a variety of publications or from conversations with persons active in the field. The sum total of this information leads to the conclusion that marine transportation of liquefied natural gas is a vital link between the source of an important fuel and its market. (AUTHOR)
