UNIVERSAL IGNITION TIMING CHARACTERISTICS FOR AN ENGINE WITH A HIGH COMPRESSION RATIO
UNIVERZALNA KARAKTERISTIKA PREDPALJENJA ZA MOTOR POVECANOG STUPNJA KOMPRESIJE
The requirements of European standards for significantly decreasing toxic exhaust fumes and for efficient fuel consumption will form the basic principles for the development of new engines and the reconstruction of existing engines up to 1400 cubic cm. The article describes research carried out on engines from that particular group and presents the ignition timing characteristics of an engine with a high compression ratio, optimized according to the criteria of better fuel consumption and improved quality of exhaust emissions.
