PRESTRESSED LATTICE FRAMES WITH INTERSECTING AND OFFSET DIAGONALS
This deteremination of the behavior of prestressed lattice frames involved a theoretical investigation as well as an experimental program. Theoretical load-deflection curves were generated using the finite element method with a mixed incremental and iterative procedure. The experimental program involved the testing of several single bay, 3-story frames. The details are described of the study in which the effect of prestressing the diagonals on the buckling load of lattice frames was determined with the following: intersecting diagonals; diagonals offset on the crossarms; and diagonals offset on the verticals.
