STATISTICAL ASPECTS OF TRIP GENERATION MODELS
STATISTISCHE ASPECTEN VAN RITPRODUKTIEMODELLEN
When analyzing trip generation one often uses regression analysis to estimate the relationship between the number of trips and the socio- economic variables. Regression analysis can only be performed if certain conditions are fulfilled, and this is not always so in practice. In order to meet these conditions it is suggested that analyses such as factor analysis or principal component analysis be carried out before regression analysis is used.
