SUBURBAN CONGESTION: THE NATURE OF THE BEAST
Comments are made on the measure and scale of the suburban congestion problem. Subjects mentioned include institutional concerns, funding, pricing, the insufficiency of the alternatives to the single occupant vehicle, and the lack of coordination between transportation and land use. A brief comparison is made between suburban activity centers and the downtown area.
