AIR QUALITY AND THE TRANSPORTATION COMMUNITY. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH BOARD ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE IN A SPECIAL SESSION
At a special session held at the 1989 summer meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Executive Committee, a panel of national experts made presentations describing aspects of the air quality problem. The following issues were addressed: the nature of air quality and air pollution; the transportation component of the air quality problem; the nature of transportation solutions to the air quality problem; and the professional response and TRB's role. This article summarizes the various presentations. It concludes with the Executive Committee's recommendation to the Transportation Research Board.
