BUSWAYS--ECONOMICAL RAPID TRANSIT
Busways are proving to be a less costly way of providing rapid transit. They are designed for the exclusive use of buses be they local buses or express buses and can achieve speeds of up to 55 mph between stations. The three busways operating in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and plans to implement busways in Ottawa, Canada are discussed.
