EFFECTIVE COORDINATION: ACCESSIBLE TRANSIT IN THE VALLEY OF THE SUN
Accessibility groups and transportation providers in Phoenix, Arizona have worked together to provide accessible transit to all long before the Americans for Disabilities Act. Some 40 percent of its 336 buses are accessible and with Bill Stokes, a wheelchair user, serving as the eyes and ears for needs and improvements, accessible transportation continue to be an important concern in Phoenix.
