TRAVEL ECONOMIC IMPACT MODEL, VOLUME I: FINAL ECONOMIC ANALYSIS METHODOLOGY

The Travel Economic Impact Model was developed to estimate the contribution of trips by U.S. residents away from home to personal consumption, employment, personal income, business receipts and tax revenues of U.S. states and counties. Trips away from home included all travel involving an overnight stay away from home and day-trips to places 100 miles or more away from home. The Model produces estimates of primary economic impact (personal consumption, business receipts, personal income and employment), secondary economic impact (personal consumption, personal income and employment) and state and county tax revenues generated by this travel (taxes on individual income, corporate income, sales and gross receipts, and real property). This document includes detailed references to all data used in the Model.
