STANDARDS FOR PARKING, SERVICING AND DELIVERY FOR NEW DEVELOPMENTS

The purpose of this document is to offer guidance on the parking provision required in respect of different forms of land use. Standards are recommended for the following classes of land use: a) shops (shopping parades, markets, supermarkets, hypermarkets, non food retail warehouses, and garden centres); b) financial and professional services; c) food and drink ( restaurants, cafes, public houses, take away food shops); d) business; e) storage or distribution; f) hotels and hostels; g) residential institutions (old peoples homes, hospitals, residential colleges); h) dwelling houses; i) non residential institutions (health centres, surgeries, educational establishments, libraries, churches); j) assembly and leisure (sports centres, cinemas); and k) other (garages, filling stations, theatres). Parking and turning area diagram and layouts are also provided. These include diagrams of car and lorry manoeuvres, and loading bay access for lorries.
