FRONTAL CRASH RESPONSES: CAR-TO-CAR IMPACT TEST OF A 1983 CHEVROLET CELEBRITY INTO A 1983 RENAULT FUEGO WITH A CLOSING VELOCITY OF 56.5 MPH. TEST REPORT
This test report doucments one of a series of crash tests to evluate Part 572 and Hybrid III dummy responses in both the restrained and unrestrained environment, and to catalog vehicle structural responses from a variety of crash configurations. Testing was conducted on a 1983 Chevrolet Celebrity 4-door sedan and a 1983 Renault Fuego 2-door Hatchback at the TRCO Crash Test Facility, East Liberty, Ohio. The Chevrolet Celebrity was towed into the Renault Fuego at 0 deg with a closing of 56.5 mph. One Hybrid III dummy was located in the driver's designated seating position and one Hybrid III dummy was located in the right front seating position. One Hybrid III dummy was located in the driver's designated seating position and one Hybrid III dummy was locted in the right front seating position in the partner vehicle. The test date was May 10, 1985 and the ambient temperature was 76 deg F.
