CURRENT STATUS OF ALTERNATIVE AUTOMOTIVE POWER SYSTEMS AND FUELS. VOLUME II. ALTERNATIVE AUTOMOTIVE ENGINES
Detailed technical information is presented on possible alternatives to conventional internal combustion engines for automobiles, including: (1) gas turbine engines; (2) Rankine cycle engines; (3) Stirling engines; (4) Diesel engines; (5) Wankel and other rotary piston engines; and (6) stratified charge engines. The various power plants are described, performance characteristics are given, and the current status of technology and the projected status are discussed.
