DE INTERAKTIE TUSSEN VERKEERS EN VERVOERSPLANNING EN DE RUIMTELIJKE ORDENING

In the past the physical distribution of human activities was mostly determined by accessibility. This paper deals with a model which incorporates explicitly this interaction. Therefore elastic instead of fixed constraints are being used in the model to calculate spatial development and distribution of trips simultaneously. Test runs show the spatial effects of 5 different infrastructure networks for "the randstad". The results of the calculations are being compared to indicate:-(a) the development potentialities of different areas; (b) the balance between population and work places per area; and (c) the overall traffic flows on the network. The results are very plausible; this indicates that a more sophisticated application of the model is necessary. (Author/TRRL)
