A MICROCOMPUTER PROGRAM FOR MODELLING LARGE-STRAIN PLASTICITY PROBLEMS. PROCEEDINGS OF THE SIXTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NUMERICAL METHODS IN GEOMECHANICS, 11-15 APRIL 1988, INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA. VOLUMES 1 - 3
This paper describes the FLAC (Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua) micro-computer program. This code uses the explicit finite difference method to model a variety of geotechnical problems, including large-strain plasticity, strain-softening, interfaces, and support-structure interaction. The theoretical development of the method is described, and a number of simple example problems are given which illustrate the capabilities of the code. FLAC operates in two dimensions. (Author/TRRL)
