DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPUTER SYSTEM ON MONITORING GEOTECHNICAL MEASUREMENTS. PROCEEDINGS OF THE SIXTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NUMERICAL METHODS IN GEOMECHANICS, 11-15 APRIL 1988, INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA. VOLUMES 1 - 3
This article describes geocontrol, a newly developed software package which records and processes geotechnical data of tunnels under construction. At the tunnel-construction-site a computer is installed that is connected to a central-unit to provide communication between a specific construction-site, the building constructor and geotechnical surveyors or engineers, so the actual situation of a specific construction-site can be checked at any time on terminals via remote data transfer. The geotechnical data obtained by geocontrol are incorporated into a central data base in order to achieve long-term-analysis of geotechnical behaviour of the tunnel construction. (TRRL)
