MATHEMATICAL MODELLING AND PROGNOSE DIMENSIONS OF KARST SINKHOLES IN MULTILAYERED SOIL BASES OF BUILDING STRUCTURES. PROCEEDINGS OF THE SIXTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NUMERICAL METHODS IN GEOMECHANICS, 11-15 APRIL 1988, INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA. VOLUMES 1 - 3

According to the requirements of the USSR building code (snip) for the designing of the antikarst protection it is necessary to know the design dimensions of the likely sinkholes. The authors worked out a probability-statistical model of karst deformations for both: a nonhomogeneous multilayered massive of soils overlaying the karst zone and the development of sinkholes on soil surface and within soil-bases of structures, as well as a procedure of numerical implementation on computers. The program pack is used for the evaluation of the karst danger when working out the recommendations on designing the constructional antikarst protection for buildings and structures as well as on their location at the site in conditions of a covered sulphate or carbonate karst including chalk.
