One area of specialization in the consulting market is that of the transportation consultants. This market segment has been around almost as long as the consulting industry itself, and is continuing to grow. How does this market segment compare to the industry as a whole? This is the questioned explored in this paper. Similarities and differences between the two are cited, and the future of the transportation consulting industry is analyzed. The paper begins with a detailed analysis of the consulting industry, in order to gain some insight into the broad concept of consulting.
