WEG (ONTWERP) EN PROBALISTIEK
In this paper the possible use of reliability concepts in road engineering and those aspects that are specific for road engineering are reviewed with the aid of a few simple examples. It is stressed that the probabilistic approach to road construction will only give one-off answers to specific problems. Only a thorough risk-analytical basis can produce a probabilistic design method that has material advantages over deterministic methods. (TRRL)
