FINAL REPORT: EDUCATION/TRAINING SUBCOMMITTEE, TRB TASK FORCE ON TORT LIABILITY

The Education/Training Subcommittee of the TRB Task Force on Torts performed a limited survey of the type and amount of risk management training administered to state highway agency employees. The survey was performed to document existing types of training, to identify desired additional training packages, and to make recommendations for future types and modes of training. The survey was conducted by sampling risk management materials from selected agencies, states and organizations. The results of the survey are included in this report as a series of tables and figures, as a review of programs conducted in several example states, in a discussion of governmental and professional agency programs, in a bibliography of selected tort liability documents, and as a series of recommendations for further study and action.
