CONRAIL'S JAMES A. HAGEN: "RAILROADS CAN COMPETE WITH TRUCKS"

In an interview with Railway Age, Chairman, President and CEO of Conrail, James A. Hagen, gave his views as to how railroads can better compete with the trucking industry for business. Included among the ways are that railroads need to produce a better product, make all elements of service easy for the customer, all facets of the delivery service should work together to make certain that the customer receives the best service, keep to the established delivery schedule, and a change in attitude within the railroad industry.
