COMPUTER SELECTED RAIL TIES
A new user friendly computer program called, "SelecTie", which was originally developed for railroad freight tracks, but which has now been expanded to include transit tracks, is described. The program provides an economic analysis of the most suitable cross tie, concrete or wood, for transit systems.
