IN SITU CBR DETERMINATION BY DCP TESTING USING A LABORATORY-BASED CORRELATION
During the last decade, the dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP) test for the determination of in situ California Bearing Ratio (CBR) has been increasingly used in some parts of the world because of its cheapness, simplicity and capability to provide rapid measurement of in situ strength of pavement layers and subgrades without excavating the existing pavement as in CBR test. This note describes the re-analysis of the original data in order to develop a new correlation equation that has a reliable capability for the in situ CBR, and thus enhance the level of confidence of the DCP usage.
