AMSTERDAM TO INAUGURATE LIGHT RAIL TO AMSTELVEEN
The first light rail extension to the Amsterdam metro network is set to begin in October providing service to the suburb of Amstelveen. The line will operate dual-purpose vehicles which consist of dual-height vehicles and low floor vehicles, articulated cars, automatic train control, automatic management system for traffic supervision, closed-circuit television cameras and restricted access to entrances due to increased drug users creating problems.
