CONCRETE MIXTURE OPTIMIZATION
It is descriibed how concrete mix proportions for a given need can be optimized using coarseness factor, mortar factor, and aggregate particle distribution. A quantitative method is described for optimizing aggregate proportions and making adjustments during progres of the work. A description is given of the use of rounded to cubical aggregates and mixtures with ASTM C494, type A or D admixtures. Conclusions drawn from the study are listed and discussed.
