RX FOR PRODUCTIVITY: BUILD INFRASTRUCTURE. STANDING COMMITTEE ON PLANNING

A look is taken at the nation's productivity, showing how the drop in public capital stock began in 1968, five years prior to the productivity slump which occurred in 1973. The author agrees with the National Council on Public Works Improvement's suggested increase in spending for infrastructure of $90 to $100 billion and that upgrading and expanding the public capital stock will bring about an increase in the productivity level.
