CENTRIFUGE EVALUATION OF NUMERICAL MODEL FOR CLAY. DISCUSSION
This is the discussion of a paper of the above title by R.Y.K Liang and J.K. Mitchell published in Vol. 114, No. 3 (March 1988) of this journal. The discussers note that if the centrifuge model is to be interpreted in a wider sence, e.g. in a study of embankment construction or to validate a numerical technique for practical application, then the method presents a number of deficiencies. Their experience in this area is described. The discussion is followed by a closure by the authors.
