OLDER BUSES NEED PERSONAL MAINTENANCE PLANS
The problems encountered by transit operators in trying to find parts and maintain older model buses are detailed. Many of the parts are difficult to find. And if they are no longer manufactured, newer parts must be used which are very expensive due to the fact that this often requires structural changes as well. As a result, transit operators are developing plans for repairs, new powerplants, front and rear axles, and evaluating the coach.
