THE FEDS TAKE CLOSER LOOK AT PRIVATE BUSES
Among the issues being examined by the Federal Highway Administration with regards to private bus operators are: a uniform system of taxation by the states, safety management practices, bus training methods, drug testing programs, the lowering of the blood alcohol level for drunkness to 0.04 percent by all states, and the hiring of some 150 new inspectors to see that the federal code is enforced in the area of vehicle inspections.
