TRAFFIC SAFETY AS A CRITERION FOR THE SELECTION OF BUS STOP LOCATION
BEZBEDNOST SAOBRACAJA KAO KRITERIJUM ZA IZBOR LOKACIJE AUTOBUSNOG STAJALISTA
The article discusses some of the characteristics of pedestrians' and drivers' behaviour in a bus stop area. Based on detailed investigations, an attempt has been made to find out which safety requirements a bus stop should meet. The requirements for avoiding dangerous situations and traffic accidents are highlighted. General principles are outlined for the location of marked pedestrian crossings and bus stops. (TRRL)
