THEORETICAL ELEMENTS IN THE ANALYSIS OF SIDEWAYS COLLISION OF TWO MOTOR CARS BY MEANS OF ALTERNATIVE SPEEDS--A CORRECTION TO THE BRUEDRLIN'S METHOD

ELEMENTI TEORIJE U ANALIZI SUDARA DVAJU AUTOMOBILA S POMOCU METODE NADOMJESNIH BRZINA--KOREKCIJA BRUEDERLINOVE METODE

The article presents the method of alternative speeds to study the case of sideways collision of two motor cars. The hypotheses put forward by Bruederlin, A have been corrected considering the relative motion of vehicles in crash situations. The author has substituted the concept of virtual speeds established by Bruederlin for alternative speeds because it is not permissible from the theoretical point of view to sum up the scale and vector values, while it can be acceptable in practice as it does not yield any outstanding error in final results.
