INFLUENCE OF CONCRETE SHRINKAGE AND CREEP IN THE CROSS SECTION OF COMPOSITE REINFORCED CONCRETE GIRDERS

The article discusses the cross section of a cracked girder constructed with concrete of different age and therefore of different rheological and mechanical characteristics. It analyzes the influence of concrete shrinkage and creep on stress and expansion and on redistribution of stress in time. It presents expressions which include the separation of the neutral stress and expansion axis in time. The interactive step by step method has been used for deriving integral and diferential equations. Besides the suggested algorithm, it uses an example to analyze the results of the calculation and stress and expansion redistribution at characteristic time intervals. (TRRL)
