RESIDUALS ARE NO REFUSE (ANYMORE): SPECIAL EMBANKMENT MATERIALS
RESTEN ZIJN GEEN AFVAL (MEER): BIJZONDERE OPHOOGMATERIALEN
The application possibilities of a few selected materials in fillings and embankments are discussed. The materials are sand, clay, sandy clay, boulder clay, brabantine clay, loess, spoil, sieve sand, minestone, calcium sulphate waste, bottom ash and refuse incineration slags. Provisional material requirements are given based on the functional demands of the construction. An assessment model is described on the basis of which a fill or an embankment can be distinguished into component elements. For each material the possible civil engineering application and the environmental protection conditions are given. (TRRL)
