Measurements were carried out in 40 buses covering all the bus types currently in use. The health, career, and living conditions of the drivers were studied in addition to the ergonomics of the buses. A survey was sent to the drivers, and measurements were carried out in the buses. The physical, chemical, and environmental factors perceived by the drivers during their work were studied. The study material can be applied in occupational safety activities, arranging the driving shifts, planning the driving safety, driver selection, health inspections, and arranging health care. It can also be used in planning more safe and comfortable buses, their cabin and equipment. (TRRL)
