RESEARCH PROJECT STUDYING DIFFERENT APPROACH TO SAFETY BELT ENFORCEMENT
The cities of Albemarle and Gastonia, North Carolina are trying non-sanction enforcement incentives to bring about an increase in seat belt usage. If proven successful, the projects which include seat belt salutes by police officers, incentive programs with give-aways and prizes as well as public information and education could serve as models for the nation.
