SIGNALING FOR EFFICIENCY
Transit operations are so varied that no one signal system is suitable for every line. Therefore, the author offers some broad guidelines to help transit planners determine the type of signaling system best suited to their system's needs. Although, signaling is considered to be a very expensive item for transit operators, another more pressing problem for the future will be finding personnel with signaling skills.
